A Historic Warehouse Reimagined for Creative Office Space
Before downtown Tulsa’s revival gained momentum, the Wallace Design Collective office building helped show what was possible. Located in the Arts District, the adaptive reuse project transformed a long-neglected warehouse into creative office space while preserving the industrial character that made the building worth saving in the first place.
Rather than strip the building down or disguise its age, the design embraced it. Original brick masonry, exposed concrete structure, steel windows, and industrial details remain visible throughout the renovation, creating an authentic backdrop for a modern workplace. The contrast between rough concrete, clean glass, and warm wood tones gives the office a layered character that feels both historic and contemporary.
The project also played an early role in the ongoing revitalization of downtown Tulsa. By reinvesting in an existing warehouse instead of replacing it, the Wallace Design Collective office building reinforced the value of adaptive reuse and demonstrated how historic buildings could support a new generation of businesses, creativity, and urban activity in the Arts District.
