“By 2030, one in five Americans will be 60-plus. We are now positioned to serve over one million hot meals a year, ensuring that no senior is lonely or hungry.”

Designed to Deliver More Than Meals

Fueled by more than 1,400 volunteers, Meals on Wheels Metro Tulsa provides nutritious meals, safety checks, and meaningful human connection to elderly and disabled individuals throughout the region. Their mission extends beyond meal delivery, helping people maintain independence, dignity, and well-being while ensuring no one feels forgotten, isolated, or alone.

As demand for services continued to grow, the organization outgrew its existing facility and began planning for a new home that could better support its mission. Narrate partnered with Meals on Wheels to evaluate potential sites and ultimately selected a highly visible location near the Tandy YMCA, thereby improving operational efficiency and strengthening the organization’s presence within the community.

From the outset, the design was shaped around two primary goals:

1. Increase daily meal production capacity
2. Strengthen community engagement and connection

The resulting facility combines administrative offices, volunteer support areas, and a large-scale commercial kitchen designed to dramatically expand production capabilities. By increasing annual meal capacity from approximately 300,000 meals to 1 million, the new headquarters positions Meals on Wheels to serve more individuals while continuing to build the relationships and community connections that are central to its mission.
