Actress and activist Sophia Bush and her fiance Grant Hughes turned all eyes to Tulsa by choosing it as their wedding location. In the week leading up to the wedding, Sophia and company made their way around Tulsa, including the Greenwood District and a stop at Greenwood Rising: Black Wallstreet History Center, using her platform to shed light on the spirit of Greenwood and the 1921 Race Massacre.
Sophia said, “Imagine what we could do if we turned our wedding into an event to showcase Tulsa: the Greenwood leaders we work with. The cultural renaissance happening there. Tech. Philanthropy. Civil rights justice. The art. The leadership. We could focus all of this attention and turn the spotlight on them.”
