July 15, 2021 was a beautiful day for the Meals on Wheels Metro Tulsa Hardesty Service Center groundbreaking! Located at 51st and Darlington adjacent to the Tandy YMCA, this new facility will expand operations and service programs to help meet the increasing demand for senior nutrition and support in NE Oklahoma.
We are celebrating this huge project milestone alongside our amazing expanded team including Eli Huff with Salt Food Group, Dan Alaback with Alaback Design, Scott Rodehaver with Wallace Design Collective, and Meyers Cherry Construction. Congratulations to everyone involved!
When complete, the new facility will incorporate an office headquarters for Meals on Wheels staff and volunteers as well as a large-scale commercial kitchen/work zone for the production, packaging, and distribution of meals, allowing the organization to increase its served meals capacity from 300,000 per year to 1,000,000.
