Libraries tend to be iconic buildings, and this centerpiece of OSU’s campus is no exception. In collaboration with technical preservation consultant Walter Sedovic Architects, we conducted a holistic evaluation of the Library’s exterior envelope, resulting in a comprehensive approach to preservation that honors traditional elements and ensures a vibrant future.
Restoration focused on securing the tower’s exterior envelope, particularly its copper cladding, which required careful selection of materials to avoid future corrosion. The tower was repainted, new terrace roofs were installed and the existing stone balustrades and brickwork were repaired. The addition of LED lighting showcases the fully restored Edmon Low Library tower to the entire campus.
