As the pioneer of successfully predicting job performance through personality assessments, Hogan Assessments leads its industry and serves some of the most powerful corporations in 57 countries around the world. The company’s previous home office, however, didn’t live up to its place of prominence in the global arena. Hogan decided to build a new, world-class headquarters that would reflect its leadership while fostering Hogans’ corporate values of work hard, play hard. The company could have built anywhere in the world, but they knew the only home for them was Tulsa. Hogan chose to join the excitement of the ongoing revitalization of downtown Tulsa.

Knowing Narrate Design’s role with numerous projects that have fueled downtown Tulsa’s resurgence, Hogan Assessments asked our firm to bring their vision to life.

Authentic and Responsive

Hogan Assessments’ new headquarters required a certain personality of its own: welcoming, responsive, and capable of multitasking. The building presents a sleek, ultra-contemporary aesthetic in keeping with Hogan’s brand — an effective tool for attracting and retaining top, young talent from much larger markets. And, it portrays an image befitting a global leader. At the same time, the new building shows the utmost respect to downtown and the historic districts that surround it.

Hogan is situated at the crossroads of three major districts: downtown the heart of the Central Business District to the west, the industrial East Village to the east, and historic Greenwood to the north. To stand next to the building is to appreciate only a portion of its story. One has to step back to see it in its natural habitat to fully appreciate its deep respect for its neighborhood.

Sitting atop the building and projecting over the edge of the glass wall is a sheer steel canopy. A graceful clue to the roof terrace beneath that combines shaded hardscape and landscape. Sheltered under the canopy, that frames the city skyline, rooftop events become special occasions — providing views of the urban landscape.

Hogan is wholly of its place and is more than just a place of business. It is a place of community.
