The Juvenile Bureau of the District Court promotes innovative social and rehabilitative services with dignity and respect for children and their families. With this mission in mind, Selser Schaefer Architects was asked to design Tulsa County’s new Family Center for Juvenile Justice.
The Center is designed to enhance the complex interaction between at-risk children and the courts, judges, attorneys, law enforcement officers, counselors, special programs, educators, and parents — all working together to achieve the very best outcome.
The 150,000 SF facility will reclaim a dilapidated industrial area of downtown. Mindful of the site, the design incorporates a creative application of economical materials that fit within the existing warehouse context while bridging the gap to the adjacent Tulsa Arts District.
