Known throughout the community as “the church that helps people,” Claremore First Methodist Church (Claremore FMC) continues to live out its mission by expanding its reach—and its facilities. In response to a growing congregation and the evolving needs of its neighbors, the church is launching a significant expansion and renovation project designed to support both spiritual and practical care.
Anchoring this effort is the new Christian Neighbor Center, a standalone, 11,000-square-foot facility planned for the church’s north lawn. Connected to the main campus by a covered breezeway, the building will house the church’s vital food pantry and clothing closet, along with additional food storage and a long-awaited loading dock—an addition that unlocks direct deliveries from the Oklahoma Food Bank, significantly increasing the church’s capacity to serve.
Inside, small offices will provide space for personal, one-on-one conversations with neighbors in need, reflecting the church’s commitment to dignity and relationship-based ministry. The new center will also adopt a “neighbor’s choice” model, allowing guests to select the food items they need most—preserving dignity and reducing waste.
