Open to the public, the Garden Center also plays an important role in connecting the Village to the surrounding community. Visitors can purchase plants grown by residents while engaging directly with the mission of A New Leaf. This interaction helps create a natural bridge between the Village and the broader community, reinforcing the idea that meaningful work and community engagement are central to the Village’s design.

A New Leaf Garden Center

The Village at A New Leaf

The Garden Center at The Village at A New Leaf serves as both a vocational training space and a welcoming point of connection with the broader community. Designed as part of the Village’s agricultural programs, the facility allows residents to gain hands-on experience growing plants while developing practical job skills in customer service, retail operations, and horticulture.

Residents participate in every step of the process—from cultivating plants in greenhouse environments to preparing them for sale and assisting customers. These activities provide meaningful work opportunities while helping build confidence, independence, and daily routines.

As part of the larger agrihood concept, the Garden Center anchors the Village’s horticultural programs and supports A New Leaf’s long-standing commitment to using agriculture as a pathway to independence and opportunity for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
